Photography can be highly interesting to get into due to the wide choices of subjects; if possible try to take a wide variety of photographs from simple items found in the bedroom to wild animals. The more experience the better. Try not to be shy to go out to events in your local area, either, as such events are often great places to take photographs. And with the use of specific lens, I personally use zoom lens which came with my camera when purchased.
